The Requiem for Roleplaying :: Becoming a legend in more than just a level rank

So you're finally 101.

So what? It's a number.

To be a legend, to be _Remembered_ long after you have left the game, now that takes skill and style. People who hack their way to the top vary in absolutely no way from any of the hundreds of thousands of other mudders. People who somehow change the surface of the mud as we know it become people who have stories told about them from PC to PC for years to come. You don't have to be an avatar to be a legend, in fact, there have been well known PC's who are very much a legend, and are not avatars. Most of these PC's are well known and are treated with a great amount of respect... why? Because of reputation, because of style, and because they have helped, through the years, a great many other people get in to that second bracket on the who list.

Do something to make people remember you, don't just crunch numbers. I have a plethora of ideas on how to do things to make yourself a permanent institution on the MUD, but it is much more fun to think it up for yourself.

Thanks for reading this, I hope it helps you enjoy your experience as a roleplayer on Distant Lands. If you have any questions on roleplaying at all, ask around, Gm's and other staff members are more than happy to help.
