Hand Axes
A hand axe is a one handed weapon meant for doing mostly cleaving damage, as
opposed to slashes or bludgeons. They normally measure about from the tips of
the fingers to the elbow of a normal-sized human arm. Most are one-sided,
although there are those that are two-sided. The hilt is normally made of wood
bound with metals and the head usually made either of some kind of metal or
rock. A good way to imagine one of these is the old indian tomahawks. The hand
axe can, and is often used as, a throwing axe because of it's small size and
light weight, but it also makes it a very good melee weapon because the wielder
can also swing them very fast.
