Another mudd I've tried has a good idea with fishing and digging. You've got to buy/find the pole/shovel and get worms for the pole or buy meat. Find a body of water and fish, there are then a series of randomly generated fishing emotes and voila, either pull up a fish/item and one can sell it or eat it. I've pulled items from small chests of gold to aggressive sharks to rotten shoes.
You also get exp when you properly fish something. Say if I pulled up a shoe, I'd get say 2k exp for atleast getting something. If I pulled up something huge, say a massive sword fish or something, maybe the exp would be in amounts of 50k.

When you dig with a shovel, it's random in areas where you will be able to dig. You can't dig inside, that would be destroying property. If someone has already dug up whatever was randomly placed there, then an emote pops up saying you think you'd better find a different place because there's nothing there. If there is something there then an emote pops up: You seem to hit something as you dig. Or something along that line and you keep on diggin until you find it. The better you are at fishing and digging, the easier it is to catch items or dig them up. Fish or items are random in each area you attempt and reload often. No telling what you'll get because it's hardly ever the same. Digging and fishing cost moves to attempt.

An intersting thing you can dig up are Tokens. In this game you can eat them, but DL is far better than that, maybe there could be a Token shop where you turn them in at. Tokens do any randomly generated good thing. They can give you exp, say 100k - 1 mill. They can give you gold, say 2k - 50k. Give you mpp, 1 - 5 mpp. Maybe uber rare tokens could give you one permi str, con, luck, etc.
Tokens could be randomly dropped on mobs, it could be like any other random piece of eq. Could be named simply "A small shiny coin lays here" or "A token awaits the next lucky person". It would be an inventory item obviously. They could be given out during Arena's or maybe a bag of tokens for winning a high level arena. Tokens could either be generic or have different names. Names on this other game don't seem to matter, the effect is randomly picked. I think DL would have more luck having named tokens and over time it could be learned what a token did when turned in. Say I got lucky and found a token worth 1 mil exp and knew someone who could really use that exp. I could either sell or give them that token to turn in. Tokens would have to be used, anti-rent. When turning in the token it would probably be best if "You're body is surrounded with a warm white light" You've gained 100k exp. Or something along that line.

How great would it be to throw rocks at a mob until it dies. Pretty cool. In another mudd you can have a bow and arrow, or throw knives at a mob a few rooms away from you, so long as you can scan and see them. You hear when the item hits and if you walk in, you'd better believe that mobs is agro to you now. Spells can be used from a few rooms away as well. I've even been shot at with an arrow by a mob. Different arrows do different things, Bows and skill with a bow determine the strength of the hit. Though you never personally see the hit land, someone in the room can see it. Using a bow doesn't do a ton of damage, but with enough time and money, to buy the arrows, things could get interesting. Mobs will even scan for you and chase after you while you shoot at em. No notrack here, if they can see you, they can find you. The mob isn't looking down to see tracks, it scans for you and can see you standing there with a weapon aimed at it. Oh, it'd be cool to be able to throw a potion like a molotov cocktail and do some burn damage to a room. Then you've got a whole room chasing after you.

Just some ideas.

WOW! Now wouldn’t that spice some things up a bit, and the whole digging/fishing thing would lead to more exploration as long as it was a random thing vs. checking all the loads on a reboot.

Hey, that sounds fun. For the fishing/digging and token things, wow i love that idea. That's probably another kind of luck challenging, more possibility for new things. But actually we need more new things in item database need to be built i think.

For throwing weapon and shotting weapon, i think our world might unique with others. So it is not that necessary with those kind of weapons. But we do have dart already, why dont we try to make it more effective :D

Kyo, in response to your question... posting details such as those are forbidden and highly frowned upon. If you want to create a collection of that type of information for your own use, we can't stop you, but we do not want everyone to immediately know what everything does, that takes away some of the mystery and challenge of the game.

I must say that I'm happy a few of you like the idea to the digging/fishing/tokens thing. I agree and do think it would add more things to do around the world other than just eq loading or exp, or even those times when people do rp. It would be great if one could even get exp for digging and fishing, though I'm sure it wouldn't be as much as if you went out exping for an hour, but none the less you'd still get some good exp and find decent items from time to time.

Now, it does bring up a good problem about items for fishing and digging. I could start on a few items that would be diggable. Maybe even a few items could be created that one can only dig up, like maybe ancient items. Exa, ancient boots, historic mask, something along those lines, would be dust covered etc since you did find it in the ground. Gems and chest or bags of gold could be found obviously. There are areas with miners that should probably more often reveal gems if dug at.

Fishing is interesting on this other mudd. You can fish up old items, rotting shoes, waterlogged items, etc. But rarely you do fish up like a small sunken treasure, bags of gold, dropped items, and even fish that you can butcher and eat, or sell. You get points for the items you pull up and points for the fish and it goes on record the bigger fish points and your name goes up on the fishing board for what type and how many points you gained (similar to the area kills board). Fishing points are distributed and once you get enough, you can turn them in for better fishing poles or other objects that can be found at the fishing shop. Fishing and digging up tokens would be nice.

Tokens are an idea I think should be incorporated into DL most definitely. They are totally random, either dug/fished/or in DL, randomly load in inventory on mobs. Wonderful idea, see top post for more info.

I also think it would be good if most all shops around DL could purchase items from you if they were interested in them. Money would be more abundant if shops could almost always buy, maybe limit the number of items each shop could buy.

Added another nickle to the pot.

For digging and fishing, i think it also could be in
tasks, like someone found a map for mystric treasure
or something interesting and offer the price to find
it. People could get the map during the task and try
to find those things. Or maybe the map is fake, people
digged and some huge monster come out. Hehe :D
Should be exciting.....
