August 8th 2008. I'm getting married finally to my fiance. So stressful this last month will be and last month has been. Laugh for me that day if you think of it. Laugh that little nerd me is getting married to a woman who, through all of his crap, takes very good care of me and loves me to no end. We're both very stressed about things right now. Last week we had our first premarital counseling with our minister. Very good to talk about what's expected of each other in a married relationship. One of those being... we gotta make more cash! Financial stress is a huge barrier in marriages and one option to reduce that, is leave our jobs we're comfortable in and get something better, finish school, etc. Iraklis and I had a good talk about a few things about work. Thank you.

For those of you with kids, or newborns. Paige, my little two and a half year old, is doing great with her potty training. We don't even carry diapers with us anymore. She sleeps through the night without any accidents. She's been sleeping with her little underwear for over a month now with no accidents. Ah, to be a father of a child you never thought you'd have. It's really something. I hope you all get to experience it one day. If kids just aren't for you... you're missing out but each to their own. Paige really is a beautiful little girl. You can see me and my nerd self on myspace. My screename is obvious, gideonhalo.

In things related to DL. I'm done playing for a while and rather than keep a character with some gear others can use, I deleted. I was gonna let it purge, but just jumped the boat early. I've had a TON of fun the last what... 7 years? If I added up all the time spent playing there, it'd probably be something like 6 months of my life. A good six months for the most part. I hope DL grows, and grows and grows and other realize how friggin fun it is to play there. Sure it doesn't have 300,000 mobs that are all realated to the real world like most muds. No 600 skills to work on, pets to train, armor to rename... oh wait, all that crap isn't needed. So many muds out there push it to the limit, then it just gets stupid. DL was my first mudd and I'm very thankful for it. In my mind it's the only mudd out there now. I tried a handful of others and liked a few, but in the end DL was the last mudd I played. It's the only mudd I'll return to from time to time to see what's new. I thank you all for the fun. I could list tons thanks for different people, but I pretty much played and had a good time with everyone. So, Thank you all again. To staff... wow, what to say. Kudos for keeping the game going and thank you for the opportunities to play.

Okay, so anyways. Wedding in 4 weeks. Probably after that I'll have a new job or atleast be crunching on my applications. I'd take something around the same crappy pay if it was in the town I live in. Save me $250 a month just for work gas. Shannon is done with her job unless she gets a specific promotion. She heard back from an Oncologists office today for a receptionist job in Nashville. (We live in Murfreesboro.) Pays $16 an hour starting out and guess what? She's got the credentials for it. We're praying she gets it. She's in the 2nd stage of applications now, just emailed those back in tonight. She dealt with a ton of bs from her job for two years at Dr Value Vision but it gave her the experience she needed to get something better. Me? Is kissing old people bum job experience? LOL! Nah, I shouldn't have any problems getting something.

Hrm, lost my train of thought, chatting with an old buddy from DL. Okay, much love to all. I'll still add ideas and whatever on forums. I would still like to DL is thriving and holding their own again.

Daryl

P.S. How much is everyone spending on gas these days for a fill up? Me. $48. I get 35 mpg.

First and most importantly, congratulations on the upcoming wedding. Planning those things are usually pretty stressful, but it's all worth it. May you and Shannon have many more happy years together.

My son is still too small to start with potty training (although I wish I could start it at 2 months...), so I'll find out how that whole song and dance goes soon enough :)

I paid $4.10 per gallon for fuel this morning. Cost me about $50 to fill my gas tank. Ridiculous. My car gets about 35-ish MPG, but it's due for not only a tune-up but for my 60K mile maintenance. I really have to do that this weekend...

Take it easy, and if it's that easy, take one for me too :P

Later,
--V

There's a command I picked up somewhere, can't quite recall where, but it fits:

gratz daryl :)

Take care of your family, and yourself. I guess we'll see you when we see you!

Your priorities are completely on track. Gratz on the marriage and good luck in finding work. Real life is *always* more important. Stay grounded and get in a good place in real life. DL will be here years down the road when you get more free time again.

Best of luck with your family and in all you do.

Checking in. Wedding less than two weeks away. Everyone laugh out loud for me on 8/8/08 at 4pm knowing that this nerd is getting married! Yeah yeah, I've been with my daughters momma for 3 years now... Yes, I knew her for 3 months, then she got preggers. Yeah we've been together for so long, but we've had so much to try and figure and so scared about married because both our parents have been divorced 2/3 times. We started making the plans, we've had our meetings with the pastor that is going to marry us and he feels we are making it work, and can continue to do so. He's giving his "blessing" and performing out marriage. This is a pastor I grow up across the street from. Good man, he knows me well.

I know everyone doesn't want to hear everything is fine and dandy. We all like a little drama. He's a big chunk. We met with a friend of mine that is an organist at a church in Nashville. He played for us different music and we picked songs to walk down the aisle to, etc. He's even "churching it up" a Mario nintendo game fanfair for me while everyone is walking out of the church after we have. Going good right? Wrong. A few days ago I go into this little chapel and check out the organ... doesn't work. It's an old foot pump machine that I have no clue how to work. No go on the organ music from that antique. I call my friend. Guess what? He's in England with the youth from the church until 1 day before my wedding rehearsal practice thingy. That's right. We're gonna mail our DJ who said he can get the music for us and he'll sit in the back and run the music on the speakers for us. Plenty of weddings do that, it'll work out if we have to. I'm hoping my friend can bring the church keyboard and play it all for us.

Pray we get some music!

Let me see... Just about everything is paid for. Shannon having some problems getting her tan just right and I need to get my hair cut correctly. Not much you can do to un-nerd me. Add a little product and I'm looking good. Got my hair cut two weeks ago, she didn't do anything that was in the computer about how I've been getting my hair cut correctly. I'll be asking for someone different.

I'm reading tons of stuff and ideas and I'm loving em as well. Rather than add another general post restating the awesome ideas everyone has already said, I'll leave em alone. Unless I have a gleam of brilliance that no one else has hit on yet.

Much love all. Talk laterz.

P.S. I'll be checking in about this whole dragon affair. I'd love to try and be on when it hits.
