I was imagining that something to add to the diversity of the character population could be adding and removing new and old selections from the "prominent feature" stage of character creation. Continually adding new, removing old, or slightly modifying existing descriptions for people to pick from as time rolls on could add to the color of the mud.

If it were to be in place I would picture it similar to the following situation. An inclusive assortment of standard traits would always be available for existing players when they consider creating another character. An additional section below this would house a list of features to pick from that would be added to and removed from occasionally, thought not overly often, at the staff's will. By allowing players to pick a description that others rarely experience they may feel more attached to their character.

This is very simple and there are already numerous traits to pick from, but it’s something small to consider and easy to add that could have subtle, yet lasting effects.
