Encumbrance is a problem. However, it is incredibly easily solved. Builders! Put small pouches and bags in your noob zones! Make them spawn at random on any mob that can spawn random loot, so that they can load in any zone (if that's possible). This is the only game in which I have had to deal with encumbrance as a huge issue. I really want to dual wield those two swords, or practice with my staff now and then, or hang onto that huge axe for the right moment, but not at the price of looting anything new and awesome (which most of the time is a diamond that I can't seem to grab because everywhere else is full? How does that make sense? I mean, where, in essence, am I storing that HUGE axe anyway?)
Seriously, bags should not be an issue. Containers of ANY kind are extremely rare, if not already maxed because older players saw this as a future problem, and instead of trying to fix it with the handy dandy idea forum, they simply hoarded every container they could and no doubt have them lying in an inventory or a house somewhere collecting digital dust. Meanwhile the little guys have so much trouble keeping things in order under the knowledge that gaining a new item sacrifices another. Plus this ultimately leads to new characters getting discouraged and quitting.
