They stink

Still, after years of playing I can't get my torso stopping anywhere near as close to the other positions. it's not even -100ac with my best things on and my hand stopping is 8 higher.

I can't even find a breastplate that's more than +2 stopping. For level 99? Less? Servant's smock? A smock?!

Layering doesn't seem to help since most other slots are helped by more layers.

OKay I understand there's room for improvement high levels and such... most things seem to be aimed for post avatar status.

Honestly it is adjusted quite well to how stopping should be pre-avatar. I know this because I've had.. far too many characters than I should share with you all. By the time I've reached level 99 and gone about getting the items I would want I have had on multiple situations a solid 20 stop all while wielding. I also know other people who have taken the time and done the same or possibly better considering their race or class. No mortal should be able to stand up to the might of an avatar and best them in battle. Multiple mortals, quite possibly, but never a single one. If a level 99 could wear as much as the heavier equipment as the avatars then in some situations why would you care to even reach avatar?

I've taken note about the breastplate issue, not sure if anyone else is actively building but I will do what I can for putting in some sort of chest item that has appropriate stats for around level 90-99 perhaps toss in a few avatar bonuses so that its worth wearing once someone quests but not so great as all the avatars wanting it. My zones wont be going in for atleast 3-4 more months.

As I said though, will do what I can.

Will try for 1 melee chest piece that looks and sounds like it would work well for them and 1 caster chest piece.

Syl, Sol, ect....

my torso is my highest stopping :) better than the rest but ya, more pre av gear in general i think would be great, stuff that's decent, but not over the top like some of the avatar stuff, i also thought items that work in certain ranges are really cool, like 30-60, then when the player reaches 60 they pass it down to other people since they have no more use for it. just for builder ideas :)

So what is the problem, exactly? BP stopping isn't high enough for lower levels or the AC isn't good enough? I might need to re-read through those to understand it better - but personally, I think a perfect AC rating of -100 on your chest should be very difficult to reach. It's the biggest part of your body (it may as well have a target painted on it) and therefore should not be as difficult to hit as other places. Unless of course, you are a ninja, assassin, thief, monk (especially), or any class that relies more on AC than stops.
