Just a thought i have been muling around in my head. I have heard several people, mainly small newb's, about there not being any money in the shops for them to sell things. I know there is limited money in them shops to sell items to them to keep the economy strong and balanced. However a reboot will happen and one or two players go sell everything they have been stocking up and boom shops are out of money.
Why dont we have a system were shops will buy only a certain amount of stuff from someone per week or per day. this way every charictor would have the chance to sell things to the shops and we could all be making extra coins on the side instead of one or two players durring the first few hours of a reboot.
Of course this is just my thoughts and mean absolutely nothing seeing how many post's i see in response's to all my other ideas. Please feel free to speak your thoughts about this. Thank you.

Actually I had an idea about this recently. Instead of having a set amount of money the shops carry. Why not have it set so each player has a set limit per 24 hours or so on that they can receive from the shops. Like each player has a small account within that shop that all there transactions draw from and deposit too. Not sure I’m explaining this idea very well but hopefully my idea gets across.

That another interesting idea, it would be a lot to keep track of though. Currently we have the ability to set the amount of gold that loads initially in a shop and a percentage of that gold loads periodically automatically when it gets low on gold. Not all shops are setup this way, there are something like 90 shops total so it is really varied. I also hope to soon have NPCs that can buy, sell and trade things via macros (without a shop being involved). In general, I think we just need more ways to obtain gold rather than just making existing ways more plentiful.

Thanks again for the thought, I'll continue to try to consider ways we might improve this situation.

Best regards,

New and interesting ways to acquire said gold would be a plus. As it stands there are only the basic tasks that were created when the new task code was implemented which are a benefit in every way but the lack of building ingenuity has stifled that process. Another great way to obtain gold and help add more depth than the richness that is already present could be the invention of professions that people could add to their skill inventory. From creation of minor items or possibly that of even armors and weapons that people could use instead, for those who don't always go about loading.

Armor smithing
Leather working
Weapon smithing
Scroll creation
Potion creation
And maybe even viable enchantments that go beyond what the current spell possesses.

Just a thought,
Guildinator

I love the new way that vendors sometimes have gold and eventually get more when low. It works well and is balanced. As far as newer players, just create an npc in say (name in progress) the new to turien travel agency. This npc has a restriction like other vendors, where it can buy up to a certain amount of items per day under a certain value (say 1-500g) and maxes out at around 250g per hour available with a max availability of around 5000g (that says that 10 players can sell 10 500g items per hour before its broke) (or if only 1 player sells 1 250g item per hour, then the vendor always has 5000g since its a reoccuring 250g regain upon it).

Whats the catch? The vendor is restricted to buying and selling to only players under a certain level (perhaps around 25) Also this vendor would have multiple list functions:

*list maps: maps to not only every guild master, but also a basic map of turien, and an approximate location of a few low level zones.

*list potions: low level potions of reasonable useage

*list scrolls: low level scrolls of reasonable useage

Yes yes, I know list and name can list anything of that nametype. But saying that this vendor would have a large stock of maps/potions/scrolls of appropriate level range or atleast a renewing stock per hour.

Lets be nice to our noobs, they are our avatars of tommorrow.

Syl.
