Alright, the tags of items, prevent the use of multiplaying from one character to another.
And unlike some of you, I've attempted in the
hold times; my earliest years, to multiplay.
Yeah they catch you numbnutz. Don't think about it.
Yet seriously though, upfront I own seven characters,
are they all big yet, no; that's not important.
Fact is, I repair alot of crap on one character,
like somes of yas.
This obstacle is hindering me on a couple of things,
I should've been able to grab my buddies corpse
before the loot process hapened, instead I had to
wait till it seemed avalaible to snatch the cadavar.
So, while the flags have to keep up to keep that
security about, is there anyway it can be disabled
to an extent that certain aiding functions to others
arn't a factor all the time?

Say I give some little one some gear from one
of my many faces, fact is i know they are going
to tear it up; I'm the only repairable pc on
at any given moment with this guy, and I'm
sending him to crub with money because again
I can't assist him that way.

Not sure, perhaps a decent topic to think about.
Sincerely- Oatmeal.

I thought about this, even asked to be fed some
feedback. If you were to make it an open thing
to commonly lift the tags, I so would forsee
the multiplaying bit happening from a
characters past gear.
Perhaps, I'm the only willing to; but I'd be
willing to make the x on a contract stating
given this release of tags, and if ever
found multiplaying directl, to be banned
forever from Distant Lands. On a side note
of it it's an item that slipped in by some
means of shopkeeper, not another player
please just strip it from the player, it
it's a permenant part of their ensamble.
Thanks, sorry folks.

That would be alot of work to just look at
logs to see who got what item from where.
I have a similar suggestion though. How about
being able to pick up corpses with items
that your alt has touched since you're not
directly touching that item? If not, then
how about ability/skill to pull/drag corpses?
Something like being able to drag two times
your own weight should be doable. Using consent
for that as well.

I'd like to take a second to recall this idea, it's really utterly and pointlessly a bad one. Although dragging a corpse around should be a posibility. Maybe even tie knott around corpse and hitch it to a horse, OOO O.O better yet, a flying beast!

Yeah anyway, self realization upon asking to borrow
some previous sun bracers I loaded. See!
I would've gone poof by that contract. Thank you the slow legal process! *struts* yes. . . I just had some sugar. so what.

anyways, best of lullabies
-the gooey oatmeal precession

This is a perfectly legitimate complaint. Unfortunately, I'm not sure how to address it. All things considered, I actually have the same problem if I want to play a mortal. If I reimburse someone gear because of a crash for example, Nezmar has touched all of that person's gear, as a mortal, I can't touch it. It is an imperfect system. It can probably be easily improved, we just need to figure out a way that makes sense and keeps the protections that are the reason it was put in place to begin with. If we don't come up with something immediately, feel free to bump this post every few months to see if I've gotten further on it. I would like to address it somehow eventually.

Best regards,

How about being able to recite recall scrolls on corpses of players? I also thing being able to drag a corpse is a good way to go. It would be similar to the push/pull command. The fountain is usually a safe spot for a corpse, being able to recall fallen comrades would be a good way to help protect their belongings without having to touch anything in their inventory.

Good idea. Many times I've "idea" the push/pull corpses thought in DL, but never get a reply about it. Recall corpse on a player would make sense.
One has to be careful though that MOBs don't become recallable. OMG I'd have fun with that in rp. Mwahaha, evil, watch out! Here ya go King Felwen, what's that Ladeo, you'd like to see Turien too? Add an few more and you've got insta death for evil at ftn. Same could be done for anyone, start recalling other massive agro mobs. I have a good enough time with portaling mobs catching the space and getting off a portal to the ftn already, lets not add me being able to recall mobs to the ftn. Mwahaha.
I have an idea I keep passing on the "idea" slot on DL. Unknown items cost a butt load to fix. There are a few good unknown items but everyone afraid to wear em because they cost so much to repair. Why not allow an Illusionist be able to repair unknown, he does deal with Illusions after all. Mages can do magic, Illusionist do unknown, Rangers can do most + Glass, etc. Oh, why not allow Druids to fix organic items. Like maybe the item they have to hold is a pile of sticks, or something along that line. Most druid items are organic already and easy to scrap, so why not allow em to fix it?

Hey well my thoughts....what about a timer?? then it really coudln't ever be multiplaying, say a 30 day IRL timer?? after 30 day the tags on previous "owners" are removed. I mean the system is obviously flawed, but if there was a 30 day timer on the items, the actuall "planning" of multiplay would be few and far between, who actually wants to wait 30 days to "cheat" when in 30 days chances are that item could probably be usless to them?? This would also solve the problem of the dying, and re-rolling problem. When you build a warrior charcter and you fix everyones stuff....well you perm die re-roll...and now you can't touch any of that equipment that you had before and also any equipment you fixed for others, basicly......it makes it 10 times harder to find equipment unless you load it all fresh and we all know thats impractical. Also what about, when a charcter deletes, purges, or perm dies, there flags are removed as well? Or perhaps reduce the timer on people who do that to 15 days? OR, i know each charcter has a unique ID number assigned to them , but what if somone re-rolls, and creates a plausible rp of "reincarnation", shouldn't they be entitled to there predecessors equipment, although probably most of it unusable....since the extreme level differance?...

Just some more thoughts, and of course

**BUMP**
