Here are the rules for requesting a guild forum:
* The guild must be an active guild in Distant Lands
* Only a guild leader may request the guild forum.
* Only ONE forum will be created per guild.
While only one guild forum can be created for each guild, subforums can be requested but PLEASE keep it to a minimum. Don't request a subforum for each member of the guild and for each thing you do. We simply don't have the administrative capacity to fulfill the potential flood of requests for these kinds of things.
Once the request has been received and granted, your guild forum will be created. A forum group will be made for your guild (this group will be hidden, so clandestine guilds can remain unknown to the general playerbase and still have their own forum.) The guild leader that made the forum request will be made a leader in the group - this means that you (the guild and forum group leader) will be able to invite and kick users from the group as well as moderate the forum. Regular group/guild members will be able to edit their own posts, but moderators and leaders will be able to modify any post in that respective forum.
The forums will be monitored by staff to make sure that no roleplaying rules are violated. This means that you cannot take information from the guild forum and use it in RP unless there is REALLY good reason for it. A couple that I would consider viable reasons are if you are discussing a big global RP and you want to make sure everyone is on the same page. Another valid reason is you plan something (as a guild) for a currently running RP, but when this is done, the actions MUST play out in the game as if the characters don't know anything of the conversation in the forums (which they won't.) If abuse is suspected, it will be looked into. If guilt is found, the guild forum will be locked (not the individual topics, but the entire guild forum) and possible in-game penalties may be incurred.
To request a guild forum, you can
send a private message (click here) to the Guild Forum Admin group. All in the group will receive the message, and one should contact you by private message, email or mudmail when the forum has been set up.
