Okay boys and girls, here's the rules. Each and every one of you who have a registered account has at least seen and hopefully read, but certainly agreed to abide by these rules. This is not a completely inclusive list and can and will change when the administration of Distant Lands and this website see it necessary.

So just incase you've forgotten, or if you haven't registered yet but want to read the rules, here they are, straight from the registration page:

We have VERY strict policies for the usage of this bulletin board system (BBS) and failure to adhere to the following policies will result in your account being locked. If you continuously fail to abide by the policies set forth in this document, you will be banned.

The rules for communication and etiquette on these boards remains the same as in the actual Distant Lands MUD (DL) game itself. For those of you who do not play the game (but wish to participate in the discussions anyway), the policies are as follows:

Abuse:
We have an absolute ZERO tolerance for abuse. If you are caught issuing a personal attack against any party, you WILL be banned. You will not swear (curse, cuss...) on this website, nor will you use derogatory terms toward any party, whether meant as a joke or not. There will be no religious, racial, ethnic, sexual or otherwise type of slander or libel used on this website. There will be no NEGATIVE criticism. Constructive criticism is welcome as long as it is presented in such a manner that it cannot be construed as negative or derogatory.

Advertising:
There will be no advertising on this website other than advertisement of DL. You will not advertise any other MUDs or any other product deemed as competetive to Distant Lands. Talking about the newest console (PlayStation, Xbox) game is perfectly fine. PC game discussion and/or advertisement (in a limited form) is permitted as long as it cannot be viewed as competetion for DL. For example, discussion about a new PC strategy game is permitted.

Sexual Harassment:
We have an absolute ZERO tolerance for sexual harassment in ANY form. You will not engage in sexual harassment in any of its forms. If you are found to be violating this policy, you WILL be banned. This policy goes hand-in-hand with the first policy stating Abuse and will be looked at far more harshly.

Furthermore, you agree not to post anything containing any obscene or vulgar language (cursing, cussing, swearing, etc). If you do, the post will be either edited or removed (action will be decided by the individual moderator). If it continues, your account will be locked and your site banned for one month. If, when both are unlocked, it continues, the account will be deleted and your site banned.

By registering an account, you agree to fully adhere to these policies and will not complain when you incur the consequences for failure to follow the above policies. This BBS is provided by and for DL, and anything that goes on here or inside the game can, and usually will, be applied to both. For example, if you are banned for breach of policy on this BBS, it is possible you can be banned in the game as well. You have been warned.
