Hello,

I just wanted to ask if the change to the way mounts now follow players was a deliberate one, or the result of an unexpected bug.

Mounts don't follow across certain rooms that are I believe are between areas. This can be overcome by mounting up and then riding across, but it has some other minor hindrances as a result. I'm only curious if this is a temporary thing or something we should work to adjust to.

Thanks,
Levune

I'm not aware of a 'change to the way mounts now follow players' ... could you please expand on what you mean by this? Or is that what the next paragraph describes? (If so, just comments see below.)

I do not currently have plans to change the way mounts work. If there are specific areas that have building problems related to mounts that need to be fixed, post them here and I will look into it.

Best regards,

Sure, there's a quick and easy example.

"Before", if I had a horse following me (I used 'instruct horse follow') I could walk out the west gate of Turien, then walk back into the town with the mount still with me.

Now, if you have I horse (or any mount) follow me out the west gate it can't be walked back into town. I must mount it, then enter the town for it to follow me otherwise it gets stuck on an unseen barrier.

Basically, anywhere there's a barrier that you can't take charmed mobs across that barrier also prevents mounts from walking across it too. This was not always how it was. For as long as I've been using mounts they have not been blocked by the same barriers as charmed NPCs. I've been wondering if this is a deliberate change or something unintentional.

It really ruins a lot of things with using mounts the way it is now, as they get stuck on invisible boundaries when you just want to have them walk alongside you for a short distance.

Hope this clears things up.

Ok, now that's kind of funny. This is the exact same bug fix Dreylor posted about:

http://www.dl2.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=201

It would seem that if I fix one thing, it breaks two others.

Thanks for the input.

Best regards,

This problem should be resolved after the next reboot.

Yowsa, well maybe for the concerns that children not learn of such creatures made of creature-kind. I thought another possibility was make atleast 4 new minor woods, pond additional, northern hill tracks, and plains that in less than a 40 diamond radius span would connect parts and pieces of each of the four corners exits from turien.
