I have learned that residents of Saint Bernard parish (county for you non-Louisiana people) will be let back in temporarily starting on the 17th of this month.. in two days. My family and I have to drive from Maryland to Louisiana (a good 18-20 hours), and there's no promise that the place I'll be staying will have an internet connection or even a landline telephone connection. I will not be updating the website until further notice due to this, so I just wanted to give advance warning.

Sorry for the inconvienence, but I know you all will understand :)

Ouch! long drive, but better sooner than later. I hope you find everything in tact.

Good luck...Landor 8)

Thanks, man :)

Don't mean to be a bummer, but we already know just about everything was destroyed. The water was up past the gutters, so at least the ceiling has caved in. The roof is still standing, though there's no certainty on the stability of the walls. It could very well collapse before we get there. It's all brick and mortar on the outside so I don't think there's much of a chance of that. Salt water DOES eat away at mortar, but all that engulfed my house was fresh water, so it shouldn't be so bad in that respect.

We're gonna save as much as we can, though ;)
