Soon, Comcast will no longer be our ISP. This means our IP address will be changing, and in fact, we'll have access to more IP addressing space and likely a faster upload speed. The new IP address for dl2.net will be 207.156.37.197 after this change happens. Some of you will likely have our domain name cached for some period of time after we moved. In short, if you can't get to dl2.net, try using the above IP address instead.

With this change, as stated above, we will have more IP addressing space. This means we can fairly easily have additional sub-domain names delegated to specific purposes. A few examples would be a web site for players, such as http://players.dl2.net/~yourplayername or for guilds, such as http://guilds.dl2.net/Stormblade or perhaps even allow players to have e-mail addresses yourplayername@players.dl2.net, for example. Would anyone be interested in using anything like this? Any other ideas of this type we might want to do?

I like the idea of having our own websites and e-mails. Just a way to keep in touch with other players, and perhaps we could possibly in the future have different types of arenas for different statistics to put on the website, and memorable things with your character.

I adore the idea. Websites for guilds, email addresses for guilds... That'd be more than awesome. Not only then could guilds post information about their members, but they could launch all kinds of propaganda, and so on.

I totally support the idea of having DL email addresses. It would be nice for guilds, and sometimes you just want to give out an easy to remember address to others for game specific stuff.

Would it be possible to have an alternate DLDS? Maybe one that we can level on, but with a permanent load rate? That way when DL is down for changes etc, people could play on the DLDS. Or maybe make level 100 the max level? I know a few graphic online games that have alternate sites. One site it's really really easy to level on, but harder to get gear, other is easier to get gear, but harder to level. And they have their normal site of course.

Game won't be down for long though.

then just use the ip and that's it.

The ideas of player and guild pages and even DL e-mail addresses are great. Will be awesome.

I'll definitely be thinking of any other things that might fit in here and will post if any light bulbs flash.
