Bows

Bows are one of the earliest weapons. They consist of a curved piece of wood
or metal with a strong string taunt between the ends. They are then used to
shoot arrows at a foe causing piercing damage. The bow is a light weight weapon
and is also favored amongst hunters because it can be utilized from a distance
with repetition. Bows traditionally come in two forms, short and long. Short
bows are smaller and easier to manage but don't have as much power or distance.

Later bows were mounted to a stock to create a crossbow which is smaller like
a short bow but has the power of a long bow due to mechanical mechanisms.
Eventually even smaller versions of these crossbows were created to fit into
one hand and allow for more rapid shooting.
